how to program an arm linux machine?

I am Anandrajeshwaran from Madurai,TN. I am working as a software programmer.

I am maily an windows guy havent seen linux in my life but ur profile says about u and ur association with linux.

I was recently given an project in which I am the TL.I have to do database programming on an arm linux device, which runs on linux kernel 2.4.x and has an memory of 128 mb and 128mb storage flash.the processor is intel pxa-255@400 MHZ

We are now currently using vb6.0 and access97 to develop apps for windows.

what IDE should I use to develop an application for this arm linux?

It would be nice if you could suggest me an gui based IDE.

Some said we can cross compile vb apps to run in arm linux is it possible.

If you can run GNOME in that machine, you can use Anjuta as IDE. But it is a C/C++ IDE. If you don't want to program in C, you can try GAMBAS that is a clone of VisualBasic and it can be cross-compiled in linux and windows.
