    Unhappy on line update problem

    Dear all

I always want to know if my linux system works properly (I am using Suse 10.0 on a dell 600m) Because once I try to do online update, but it took the computer so long and finally it went dead (I can not even turn off the computer, and finally I have to press the power button to turn it off). And I havn't done any on-line update since then

There are also some other problems, like I can read pdf file in Konqueror, but couldn't in firefox.

So my question is: can we have a method that could find out if the linux is working properly ? how to do that

Probably if you are experimenting these problems, your linux box is not properly configured.

For example, maybe the problem with updates are because your repositories are not properly configured.

About the other problem, I'm not sure, but probably konkeror uses it's own engine to show pdf files, and firefox needs a plugin (when I click on a pdf file, my firefox calls xpdf or Acrobat Reader, depending on what I have installed)

    Best Regards

It depends on your system. In Red Hat you have yum and the file /etc/yum.repos.d/

If you're using other distribution you should read your documentation.

    Best Regards
