    Which distro?

    I am a beginner linux user, but I have quite a bit of experience with OSX 10.4.

    I will be running linux on a mac mini when the lepoard-supporting ones come out.

    I don't know how to code.

    I want a very nice looking, easy-to-use, operating system wiht loads of free software and a control panel sort of thing.

    Also, I want everything to be free, as I'm not paying a penny for linux, I'm just running it on the side for fun using Parallels desktop.

    Should I use:

    1) Ubuntu

    2) Kubuntu

    3) Mandriva one

    4) Mandriva Free

    5) Other (please say what you recommend and why)

    not sure how you define a control panel but any of those sounds reasonable considering what you want it for...
