internet connection problem
g'day wonderful people!!
I need a point in the right direction with kppp.
I've set up my modem (serial) with yast . It works with both kppp and Kinternet in root however i'm trying to make a new connection(dial up)
which doesn't get on with Kinternet but works fine with kppp
however it does not work for other user accounts.
If i try to connect with kppp using an account other than root, i get the
message.....
" unable to open modem "
I also get this message if i query the modem.
When i first turn on kppp not running as root i get this message...
you dont have sufficient permission to run /usr/sbin/pppd
please make sure that kppp is owned by root and has the SUID bit set
obviously the connections and the modem work fine because i connect can in root so what do i have to do to allow other accounts to connect to the internet?
thanx to anybody with advice
