I don't believe it is. You can format in HFS, but not in HFS+. Perhaps you can transform the partition in HFS+ later.

So no solution?
I wish HFS would be enough, but it isn't.
Is there really no solution, yet, for HFS+?
My google skills doesn't seem to cover this subject.
