    Default Application

    So I have Ubuntu 6.06 (Dapper) and it works great. Except that I do not like the default application (Totem) for all my video and music files. How do I go about changing this default? I can right click and choose the app I want, but I can't just double click and get it.

    The only way I can think about doing it is changing it for each file type. For example, if you always want mp3 played by some other program, find some random mp3 right click---->properties----->open with then chose what you want. close that, and now if you double click any mp3 should open with what you picked
