openSUSE or Ubuntu?
Which one would you recomend for me?
I DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE MICROSOFT/NOVELL DEAL, SO DON'T FACTOR THAT IN.
I want a fast distro with Gnome that will be able to partition my firewire hard drive.
It should also be fast on my 400mhz PPC G4 (which is about 800mhz for an intel or AMD chip) with 768 mb RAM.
In terms of hard drive space, I have a 20 gig hard drive but a 160 gig firewire external drive.
Also, I need my distro to be able to dual boot with OSX 10.4.8
If you have any other distro suggestions as well, tell me here.

Which distro threads are generally frowned upon, as there is no real standard answer. Your choice of distro will ultimately be your own. Have a look at this thread.
Ubuntu and openSUSE performance is arguably much the same these days, though with a 400MHz G4 you may consider a lighter window manager than Gnome, such as Fluxbox. Aside from that just ensure you get a PPC release rather than the usual x86 install disk.
