    Just a few questions.

    I have an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ and i just have a few questions.

    1. Can I run a 32-bit Distro on My 64-bit Processor?
    2. Can a 64-Bit Distro run 32-bit programs.
    3. I was thinking about getting Ubuntu, what .iso file should I download. North America - USA

    Quick answers for your quick questions -
    • Yep
    • Sure can. that's how some people use the 32 bit browser plugins with Firefox
    • Just select any mirror server and download the desktop/laptop image for 32 bit or ubuntu-6.10-alternate-amd64.iso for a 64 bit install
    Note that a lot of people find that going 64 bit isn't worth the extra effort. There are some problems associated with it, namely browser and codec workarounds. I'm not sure if there are any real performance benefits but maybe some of the other members can elaborate more.
