    Installing fedora core 6 problem

I am new to Linux and am trying to install fedora core 6 on my laptop
Its an Amilo (fujitsu/siemens)80gb hd with winxp on a 50g partition ntfs
When I try to install linux it stops at the partition section saying not enough
space to install.. /boot I haver tried most options except the one which removes all partitions...not wanting to lose xp

Every attempt says not enough space ..but this is definately not the case

    Help please

    Zeph

i think you are exceeding the number of Primary Partition limit. create an Extended Partition. dont create Logical Partitions in it and leave Extended as unpartitioned. Install Fedora in Extended.

    Cool

Thanks that solved it as you thought all my space was partitioned

    Next problem .....
When installing had to use Linux text method as had a blank screen using linux
Once installed got a command line no graphical interface...so read up and it seems the xserver is not starting ..then tried system-config-display....but no joy
    just blank screen
on boot up noticed a problem with acpi cpuspeed (fatal error)or is it my display drivers using an ATI radeon mobiliy x700 ?

    Still trying

    Thumbs up Try This Man

make a separate partition (min of 9gb) as linux ext3 or linux ext2..and separate 128mb partitions of two.one for /tmp and one for /boot..then try installation in graphical mode...continue this or refer me once again
