mandriva does not see pcmcia card

I'm new, yeap newwwww.

I'm trying to get my Cingular/Sierra Wireless AC860 card to work.

I'm using Mandriva(but it doesn't have to be this one).

It doesn't find this card? Where do I go from here?

I got some "work around" config setting from the Sierra manufacturer,
but that is later. For now I need a os to find the card.

Do i use pcmciautil?...

I know nothing about setting up ppp, and linux but I am a Java Programmer.

Gotta start somewhere.
