vcd and mp3 burning software
Hey guys out there, am new to linux and am now using archlinux of which i successfully installed after a number of googling.
well, everything seams to work fine, however i dont know which software to use in order to burn mp3s,vcd,etc a burning software very much similar to nero (one used in windows OSs). Any assistance is highly apreciated.

It's been a long time since I used Arch Linux, but my favorite CD burning application is K3b.

Thanx techieMoe,
well, i've also used K3b for buring audio cds as well as data cd/dvds.The anoying part of k3b is that i can not burn mp3s and also vcds.may be since am a newbie to linux software,i still do not know how to use k3b properly.guide me step-by-step if its possible to use it to burn mp3s and vcds and if there other linux software that ca support that, let me know.

- 01-11-2007 #5There is a version of Nero for Linux, but it doesn't offer any unique features as far as I know; it does the same thing as K3B and isn't free.

so that means linux developers need to do a lot more so that to meet all the needs of indivual users. ie microsoft users migrating to linux should not be tempted to go back to microsoft OSs for specific purposes.

I've been using Gnome-baker for a very long time. It uses Gstreamer to decode, so any format supported by gstreamer will work with gnome-baker.

K3b can burn MP3's and VCD's.

ndan: Please do some research before posting, K3b can can burn MP3s and DVDs
