Hey guys out there, am new to linux and am now using archlinux of which i successfully installed after a number of googling.
well, everything seams to work fine, however i dont know which software to use in order to burn mp3s,vcd,etc a burning software very much similar to nero (one used in windows OSs). Any assistance is highly apreciated.

It's been a long time since I used Arch Linux, but my favorite CD burning application is K3b.

There is a version of Nero for Linux, but it doesn't offer any unique features as far as I know; it does the same thing as K3B and isn't free.

so that means linux developers need to do a lot more so that to meet all the needs of indivual users. ie microsoft users migrating to linux should not be tempted to go back to microsoft OSs for specific purposes.

Thanx a lot and have a happy day

I've been using Gnome-baker for a very long time. It uses Gstreamer to decode, so any format supported by gstreamer will work with gnome-baker.

What "needs" of yours have not been met by K3b? I don't understand your point.

    K3b can burn MP3's and VCD's.

For VCD's choose New Project | New Video CD Project from the File menu. You can then add any MPEG files you want and burn them.

For MP3's choose New Project | New Video CD Project from the File menu. You can add any audio files and there is even a button on the toolbar to convert to a different format if you want.
