Manage Firefox from command line ???
Hello,
Is it possible to manage Firefox behaviour from command line ???
In particular, I am interested in elementary operations
"Abort", "Reload", "History Back", "History Forward", "Open Favorites"
provided there is an open window loading http://SomeSite.com
I tried google, but unfortunately couldn't find anything except the simplest
I have SuSe 10.1 on Thinkpad A31; I loaded "tpb"/"kmilo" packages to use "special" Thinkpad buttons and assign commands to them.firefox -remote "openURL(http://SomeSite.com)"
In WinXP these buttons are integrated in IE and perform the above-mentioned operations.
I wonder if this is possible to make under Linux. [I am not a hacker !]
Thanks in advance,
Xaleandr

I don't think it is possible. But why would you want to manipulate firefox from the CLI? The shortcuts in firefox are much faster and more efficient. If your itching to use the CLI, just use lynx.

Sorry that my description wasn't clear.
Thinkpads (as well as some other notebooks) have 8 additional buttons on the keyboard, designated for navigation.
When the laptop is used with external mouse, of course it is much more convenient to use it.
But if You are on board and there is no place for external mouse, to use additional buttons is much more convenient than the standard "trackpoint"/"trackball". You may assign different context-dependent commands to these buttons.
That was my question.

Use Firefox Keyboard Shortcuts
Hi Xaleandr,
Or, you can use the keyboard shortcuts assigned for various tasks in Firefox, which are very easy to use.
