    Firstly you might like to understand the concept that Linux is NOT Windows. Here's some good links about it:

    Further on you might want to consider searching Google for "Linux Filesystems" and so on to understand the main differences. Best bet would be to get yourself an easy distro to start out with and play around with it, search Google if something is tricky and if you can't find an answer come post your problem here . A good one to start with in my opinion would be Ubuntu however no one can tell you which one you will like...
