Can't Connect to WLAN in Fedora 6

I'm running Fedora 6 Core (DVD Package) on my Compaq Presario R4000 laptop. I can hard connect (Ethernet Cable) to my router (Linksys WRT54GX2) but I can't connect wirelessly to it. I have a 128-bit Hex WEP key for protection. In the "Network Configuration" (system-config-network) it tells me my wireless card was recognized and is working. Now when I try to connect to the network using the key I always get a "Wireless Network Key Required" window, and I've attempted to put in the WEP Key various different ways, including the passphrase used to make the key. When I do this it just attempts to connect and once again pops the Wireless Key Required window up. I'm stuck here. Any help would be greatly appreciated since I'm a big Linux fan and even bigger Windows hater so the quicker I can move to Linux the better

Edit: Maybe I'm supposed to put input the key in a form other than XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (Dashes somewhere perhaps?)

I have a similar issue. I just installed Fedora Core. I can connect to my network using a physical RJ45 cable, but when I try to use the integrated Broadcom (yes, yes I know there are issues with Broadcom) connection, I can't connect. I've tried everything. I've tried setting everything to auto, to managed, to master, everything, and I stil can't get a connection. Every time I try to activate the connection, I get this wonderfully helpful message:
    Code:
Determining IP information for eth1... failed; no link present. Check cable?
I'm a code in C as well as Python, so if there's any code monkeying that I need to do, I'm open to it, I just want my laptop to work.

    Edit: Didn't give enough info:

I'm using an Acer Aspire 3000 with Broadcom BCM4218 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless Controller.

Surprise surprise, that's the exact same card I have or at least very similar and it's the exact same error message it gives me.
