    Austrumi..

I searched Google for whether Austrumi is installable...it appears so because I came across this thread

Problem is, I have SLAX too and it is installable and I would so dearly like to install it but have no clue how...does Austrumi have an 'Install' option upon boot or maybe an icon on the desktop ?

So the install option is something easy not like with SLAX that u have to install something via Windows or Linux so that it can install ?

Also, reason for me checking austrumi is because it's small and I want something other than Ubuntu for a change so I can learn something and it's got a different GUI. I read about it in LinuxFormat.

its installation is similar to Ubuntu. you already installed Ubuntu. use Ubuntu's GRUB only and dont install Austrumi's GRUB. uncheck it during installation and add an entry of Austrumi in Ubuntu's GRUB. Austrumi needs atleast 1GB disk space in ext3 format. create an ext3 partition before installation.

Well I downloaded it and booted from the CD...well RAM* and it's so so fast I can't believe it...even watched some anime and scrolled fast on the slider and no lag whatsoever..

    Two major problems:

    1. I don't understand the language
    2. No internet and I doubt I can fix the internet in latvian... (Standard DHCP it should work by default )

Got those two sorted, Internet works because I plugged into a different network card because it doesnt seem to detect the other 'GIGABIT BROADCOM EXTREME' card...

How do I install it now ?

I really don't see such an option...when the disk boots I have three options:
If I just leave it it boots normally.

al nocdcache - Don't attempt to cache disk into ram
al text - boot in text mode
al noddc - for old monitors

Is this installer somewhere in the GUI...? (Sorry for being a pain)

EDIT: Thanks I found it! Now I can go and partition my drive...actually this happens to be the first distro to be able to write to my old distro's drive. Problem I'm having is I have to press my ' buton twice to get that and if I press it and S after that it gives me 'š'...so it's clearly made for their language...

Ok I dont know where to go now...I have no option to install GRUB and there is no option NOT to install LILO so I decided oh well wtf...let's try it anyway then and I have created my partition for it (20481.3MB ext3) which is 20GB roughly. Then when I install it seems as if not much is happening, things become slower and at the end this dialogue thing pops up...When I reboot there's no LILO...just dear ol' Ubuntu's GRUB.

When I boot into windows it shows that the whole 20481.3MB of that drive is used (In partition magic) ... I also noticed that some of the applications are just plainly in latvian and can't be changed.

This below is what I get when I install INSTALL.PNG
