    Barebones server, distro recommendation.

The machine: IBM, 550hmz, 64mb, 10 GB HDD and asus WL138g V2 wireless card with linux drivers provided.

Intended purpose: Playing a video stream over the WLAN and out putting to the TV out.

Knoppix and ubuntu just run too slow on it and I don’t think the drivers will work with FreeBSD.

What do you guys recommend to do?

Have you tried xubuntu or something designed for low end machines?

I'm not familiar with fluxbox but xfce is very lightweight, and that's what xubuntu uses.
