    Suggest you what kind of something? What kind of project to do? Which language to use? What IDE? Which distro? Whether to use Linux?

    Note that we don't normally suggest particular distros, unless you have very specific and unusualy requirements. Also, we can't give you homework-specific help. But I will recommend that you use Linux; which IDE to go with depends largely on what lanugage you deem appropriate for your project.
