    uninstalling fedora

Just thought I'd give linux a try so I took the plunge with Fedora. To make a long story short, I installed it incorrectly and cant boot from my windows xp cd to uninstall fedora. In fact, I think I partitoned on top of Windows Xp. Obviously thats not good, but no worries, I made the leap of faith with linux after a fresh install of xp, so no info on the hard drive was lost. What I need though is to reinstall xp so I can uninstall fediora. Whats taking place is, I boot from the windows xp cd, and all it does is initialize the hardware configuration, then hangs there in a black screen. Any tips on how to wipe fedora would be appreciated.

yes, but unless the knoppix cd gives me an option to wipe fedora from the hard drive (which I've already looked at), its not going to do me much good.

Boot up knoppix and go to the terminal. Login as root and type "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hda" this will wipe the entire drive.

EDIT: BTW if you are going to install Fedora make sure it is the newest version which is 6. FC6

i am sure tech_man's suggestion will work.
just a side note, you can use Fedora Installation CD too.

just a quick question before I attempt this ... how do I login as root from my knoppix cd? I loaded up the knoppix cd last night and wasn't able to locate where I might be able to do so.

execute 'su' in terminal to gain root privileges.
