    XGL, Compiz, AIGLX, Beryl...???

I know XGL + Compiz can run together and AIGLX + Beryl. Can you for example run Beryl + XGL and Compiz + AIGLX ?

I really need some bit of clarification as to how this works...because it is starting to confuse me. XGL and AIGLX are the physical engines of it (if I'm not mistaken) and Beryl and Compiz are theme-managing tools ? What is Emerald ? I want to use these but just can't seem to figure out how to do so and I don't even know what they are respectively...

XGL: An xserver over OpenGL, it works in the top of xorg, it enables the use of Beryl or Compiz
AIGLX: A compositing xorg extension, it enables the use of Beryl or Compiz
Beryl: a window manager that uses either XGL or AIGLX for its drawing operations, emerald is the window decorator (the windows borders and the three nifty buttons)
