    Linux Server for DHCP?

    Hi,

I use Linux at home but I don't know much about Linux for Servers.

I am in a small company that seems to have outgrown it's peer to peer network. The DHCP is handled by a router (A Netgear FVS 31. The Clients are all WinXP. There's two switches, but the router is having problems handling the many IP's that are being added.

I want to find a Linux server that will handle all the DHCP in the network. I'm sure there's different platforms, but I'm looking for something that is easy to setup and manage.

    Any suggestions? Thanks.

You might look at smoothwall. It is a custom distro that is made for dhcp/firewalling. I have used it and it is pretty painless (as painless as stuff like that can be )
