sata drive mounting
I'm pretty new to linux, i've studied unix a little on the side but other than that...my history with linux is just a series of failues...logging in as root and still being denied access to things...drives not mounting for seemingly no reason....commands given in examples not working because apparently they're not commands....ect ect
so far....I'm just kind of irritated...and some day I hope to learn a thing or two about writing Operating Systems and making one WAY more automatic and streamlined than anything I've seen so far...but....this is what I'm stuck with it seems......
all the aforementioned issues aside, how is it that I can mount my SATA hard drives into Slax (server edition)?
All I want to do is this:
I have 4 identical hard drives and two identical adaptec raid controllers (two drives per card)
I want each card to be in it's own little hard ware raid, and then share both of the logical drives....then being raids, as Samba shared volumes.
It seems slax has other plans however, telling me...even though I'm the root user...that i can't mount...just about anything...
can anyone please help me? thanks
