Question What Flavour of Linux and where?

What Flavour of Linux and where?

I am just trying to break into the Linux world and first am wondering what is the most popular flavour of Linux and where the popularity lies with respect to global areas? It seems red hat is most popular in North america; and Suse in Europe. Are there any stats on this type of data?

    Thanks for the info.

I don't really think any certain distro is popular in a geographic area. It's more along the lines of what best suites your needs, or what you're most comfortable using. You should go through the sticky at the top of this forum.

Looks like homework, rather than something of practical value. For popularity see Distrowatch Page Hit Ranking at http://distrowatch.com/

As mentioned earlier, please take a look at the link in my signature. Only you can make the decision as to which distro is the best.
