Small business server
Hey,
I'm looking to change over to a Linux server, because I'm currently running a Mac (OSX) server, and it is killing me! I need VPN, print server, and file sharing functionality. I have never touched Linux before, so I'd appreciate a nudge in the right direction. Any thoughts? Oh, and I've got to run Mac, PC, and Linux clients with a minimum of client-side apps. Thanks!

Welcome to the forums, Mangobyte

Take a look at the link in my signature for lots of good information about getting started with Linux.
Good luck with whatever distro you choose.

Mmm, okay. This seems like mostly private use stuff. I am running the Mac server at a fairly sizable church, 50+ employees, and we're looking to grow here very soon, so I'm looking for something that can handle slightly heavier thoroughfare. Also looking for a pretty scalable physical set-up to use. Unfortunately, I kind of absorbed the "server manager" role because the server was set up in my office; I don't really know much about the blasted things, except that the current one sucks. If I don't get something together here quick, it may be my butt on the line. Thx for the assist.
