How to update firefox & my wireless network card.

    Hello !

I will call myself newbie in this linux world . I have 2 problems/questions about Linux mandriva 2007.

1.) How can I update my firefox from version 1.5 to the newest one? I tryed to download newest firefox but I`cant install it because I dont know how to do it

2.) I have a Intel Pro/wireless 2200BG Network card on my laptop. After trying to activate it I get this message ---- Info:
    due to missing /lib/firmware/ipw2200-*.fw
The required files can also be installed from this URL:
    http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/firmware.php

First of all, how can I check wich version wireless driver iam running? How can I fix this problem so I can use my wireless connection ?

I Hope I can get quick respons for my questions.

    Thanks!

    Best Regards

This is the package you want :
    http://rpms.mandrivaclub.com//rpms/m....0.noarch.html

The easiest solution in the long run would be to set your repositories right, so that you can access more packages (programs) directly with the Add/Remove Programs utility. More info here :

Did you restart your computer ?

After doing so, post the output of :
    Code:
    dmesg | grep -i ipw
    And of :
    Code:
    iwconfig

Do you have a on/off switch (or button) for the wireless ? Perhaps it is off ?

A bit more info about that here.

I thing the problem is this

    Everthing is OK
but "bringing up inferface eth1: error for wireless request "Set mode" (8B06): Invalid argument "Roaming".
