    I did a google search and seems there are numerous apps for both graphing calc and cad.

    Google "graphing calculator software for Linux" and "linux cad".

    I googled too

    Yeah, I did the same search and though it looks like a good resource at first it is essentially worthless, the only thing close to being useful is graphcalc, a port that hasn't been modified in 5 years and no longer compiles. I'm looking for listings of quality software, I have searched this forum and posted here because I remember reading a post about CAD apps on linux that had a great list attached, but I can't find it now.

    When I installed the official novell DVD of SuSE 10.0 in the packages where included some really good calculators, from hp. Can anybody post how I can find them? I tried a little research over google, with no results.

    Many of the cad programs available for linux are no longer being developed. I just use qcad, you might want to check out jcad.

    Sorry to bump this thread, but I need to make a minor correction: The second program mentioned by Dark_Stang is LabPlot; I had to use my package-manager to find it.
