Which linux is for me?
I 've recently built a great system (No Games) and want to know which linux is for me. I run cad software and will use the computer as a DVR. The mobo is a dual P4 xeon 3.0 and I run 15000 rpm scsi drives, finally burning dvds is a must. The mobo is from a HP workstation (hp xw6000) and the max ram supportted line on the spec. page reads:
NOTE: Microsoft Windows supports 4GB; up to 8GB configurations are supported on Linux only.
So i've got four dimm slots and a good line on 2gig sticks
also... Which video card is ideal and which one can I Afford (@$100.00).
the spec. page is:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/q.../11485_na.HTML
Thank you all so much.

Every Linux is for you although you should start with Knoppix or Ubantu first (I've spelt Ubantu wrong I think but google should correct that automatically)
Do you know much about Linux?
If your new to Linux here is a very good link:

Other people can't tell you which Linux is right for you any more than we can tell you what your favorite flavor of ice cream will be. You just have to try a few and decide for yourself.
