    Welcome to Linux!

Having said that, wireless support can be a little spotty natively, but depending on your card, you have other options.

What is your exact card? If it's the WMP54GS, then I know it works with ndiswrapper, but others may not (most do).

ndiswrapper is a program that uses Windows drivers but makes them work on Linux. This is how many wireless cards are supported. Once I know your card, I can point you to a guide for it.
