make a backup copy of kubuntu distro cd
Canaonical Ltd mailed me a Live CD of Kubuntu which can boot up from my WinXP computer.
I would like to make a working copy of the CD so I can file the original as a master for backup purposes.
I followed instructions to backup WinXP installation CD. Use BBIE to get the boot sector and writing out a copy of the entire CD, using Nero 6 ISO image copying option, refering to image1.bin created by BBIE.
The image gets a checksum violation when loading from the copied cd.
How do I copy the Live CD of Kubuntu in a WinXP system?

You don't have to do anything special. No messing with boot sectors or anything. Just make a complete copy of the disc. In Nero 6, you can do this by opening the program, exiting out of the wizard that comes up, and clicking on the "Copy" button in the toolbar. Choose your number of copies, ignore any special options and hit "Copy". That should do the trick.

Advice was right. Use the copy Cd option within Nero.
I tried a couple of homemade attempts, copy the distribution cd to the hard drive and write a cd from the hard drive, trying with and then without the bootable cd option. The bootable option booted some other distro of a boot linux and stopped or I got a "sorry, checksum error".
When using the copy CD option i checked off the "read raw sector" option. Nero reads the whole CD and creates an image file, then you replace the CD with a blank CD, and Nero writes the image to it. The copy is bootable.
