Trying to save an old laptop
Hi
My father has a very old laptop. Toshiba satellite 1715. 600mhz 64 mb ram and 6 gb hdd. He is currently running win 2k on there. It is very slow. Does anyone know a good linux os that i can run on there? Some of the linux i saw requires higher specs than the one we have right now.
Thanks

P.S. Wow 64MB of ram thats not alot even for that old a laptop my Compaq Armada M700 has 512MB (it's max out) but I think the standard was 256MB. I have new laptop no though. Just my thoughts.

Hi lazyazn,
Welcome to the LinuxForums.
there are a lot of lightweight Linux Distros that will run pretty fine on those specs. check here.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
