    email server configuration

    Hi

I am new in linux, i'm using Suse Enterprise 8.

Looking around I've managed to configure the dhcp server and a proxy server, so the internet conexion is working for all the clients.
But i'm really lost on the mail server configuration, most of the clients are using microsoft outlook.

For the info i've seen, I need to configure imap mail server, it's installed already and i have activated pop3 and imap servers on inetd.conf.

Any hint on what i should do next would be highly appreciatted
and another question, every time I try to reload inetd.conf I get the failed result and I need to restart the server

    Thanks in advance

    Felipe

did you try sending a test mail using the machine that has the server process running's ip address?
