I should know this... How do you INSTALL Linux from a liveCD?
Alright- a little ego bruising here.
I have a LiveCD, and it boots up nicely and lets me use it- but I'm only using it off the CD. How do I put it onto the hard drive?

Some LiveCDs offer the option to install to the hard drive, which distro are you using?

my distro...
My distro is Gentoo. (Note: I know that it is strongly discouraged for newbies to use this particular distribution, and I am aware of the challenges ahead of me.)
I have tried to read up on this and I can find what to do once it is started but I can't figure out how to get it started.

What step did you get to in the installation and did your network work on the LiveCD?

No, I'm not using the graphical installer. I'm doing all this to learn something, therefore I didn't want to take the supposedly easy way out. However, from what I've heard it sounds harder.
