    VMware - Using multiple HDD's

Hi. I installed VMware un xUbuntu and it works. I installed a modified version of Windows XP and again, all is well. My problem is that i can't use my other HDD under Windows in VMware. I tried using the Share Folders solution, but my other HDD has 2 partitions, 1 FAT32 and 1 NTFS and for rome reason, when i trie to open the shared folder in windows, the Explorer automaticly colses and reopens. So i am left with no acces to my second drive in VMware...
I tried adding the second HDD in the device list, along with the virtual HDD, but i don't have permission do to so, i expect because i am not loged in as ROOT. I ca'n login as root, because xUbuntu can't do so, i can only use the terminal with sudo and that doesn't help any.
So, what can i do now ?

You could do sudo /bin/su - to use sudo to become root.
Is there a networking/firewall issue? Do you have Samba running and configured to share the 2nd HD to your VMWare image?
