    hello all

i've been using linux (ubuntu edgy) for about a month or two now. i've been around windows for ages now, and would just like to know what kind of service(s) *nix has in the way of centralized user management (similar to active directory users and computers). I know how to add local users via useradd, but was wondering if someone could direct me to a tool(s) that deals with storing roaming profiles and user authentication.

any help would be GREATLY appreciated =]

btw, what are the most popular distro's (*nix) that are used in a corporate environment?
