Hello all, I recently needed help in the general installation and getting Beryl windows manager to work.

You can find the previouse thread in the linspire distro section because I use freespire

my first problem was changing the source.list and adding urls for apt-get

Now I have Beryl installed but it has many things that I need to edit in order to customize I CANT because everytime I log in, beryl - manager or beryl settings manager out of console it freezes, crashes and leaves me unable to really do much


please help ,


p.s, less important, but I noticed that on the websites for compiz and beryl that people have different desktop pictures for the sides of the cube along with that, they can see the entire cube either zoomed or afar with a background picture of its own behind it


how do you do that , obvously this is not even close to as important as the first issue but if you cant help with both and know a thing or two about customizing it, that would be great as well
