    Try installing the driver. Download from here I hope it helps

    log as root and execute
    tar -zxvf filename.tar.gz
    cd to the directory created and read install/readme file, it must contain install information. Usually
    ./configure
    make
    make install
    This is a good guide. Don't forget http://www.google.com/linux, you can find almost anything

    I had to chat with lexmark to get the web page fixed so i could download the driver. It was down all day yesterday and until 5:00 today.
    The printer did install
