--Desktop settings reset upon 3d activation --

Hello all, my problem invovles my adjustments of the gamma/contrast/brightness/digital vibrance in the linux nvidia 3d driver.. I disable 3d acceleration, which allows me to use the nvidia controls, and, i set my settings to my liking. When i re-enable 3daccereration and use beryl, or compiz, the settings i just adjusted in the nvidia controls reset leaving my screen way too bright, and with too much contrast, what can I do ? Thanks a LOT. Also, when 3d acceleration is activated, my nvidia tab controls disappear, is this how it's supposed to function? http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25.../snapshot1.jpg

ps. sorry if blatantly obvious, very new

Are you using XGL or AIGLX?
