I don't get it!
I have programmed everything from TRS-80 Cocos, Allen Bradley PLCs, Siemens PLCs, DOS based systems, Windows based system.......and I cannot get a grasp on Linux. It seems like a geeks only club.
My wife is also totally lost.
All I wanted to do is install Real Player and I had no clue how to do it. I downloaded it but that was about as good as nothing.
You guys will never succeed until people like myself can figure out what you geeks are talking about!

Welcome to the forums, keithclark

Sorry to hear you are having problems with Linux. I do believe that telling us we won't succeed until people like you do is probably incorrect. There are plenty of people here that use Linux and feel that it's been a huge success for them.
If you should need any help on anything, don't hesitate to start a new thread and ask for it. We need to know the the nature of your problem, and information regarding what you have done to work your way through it, along with the distribution you are using. Hardware specifics are also often very important in solving any problems.
In the interim, good luck with whatever OS you should choose to utilize.

Hi, Keith

So far, you haven't asked for any help. The reply from anomie was based on the fact that Linux is not Windows:
http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/lin...explained.html
Starting off your first thread here saying that Linux is a geeks only club and we won't be successful with Linux until you are is considered an effort to troll. It's certainly not a request for help.
Anyway, I'll lock this thread and you can start another if you should decide you need any help.
