    linux streaming server


    hello,
    i have lan. my client platform is win and my server is linux 7.2 i want to setup music library on linux server so user can browse throgh apache and select any song , when user click on any song the song start playing .....
    plz help i dont have any idea..

    Just share your mp3s with http. There are plenty of howto's on configuring apache. The apache site has good documentation and it is very easy to follow.

    Wouldn't it be much more fun to make the Linux machine play it when you click it, though? =)

    It will play when you click on it. If you wanted to, you could share the mp3 directory with nfs and use unix services for windows to mount the drive so they appear locally.

    you could try using net juke http://netjuke.sourceforge.net/

    its not too hard too setup, maybe this is going to far, or complicated. anyhow just a suggestion.
