Suse linux on earwig
Your thread doesnt say anything about suse linux on earwig.

Highlight SuSe title in GRUB Menu and press 1. press Enter key. SuSe will boot up in SingleUser command line mode. execute 'passwd' command and assign new root password.
reboot and log in as root with new password. It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

You are right, but you didn't say anything about it, either, in your first post. You asked for how to obtain a new password. You can follow the link provided to reset/create new passwords for Linux.
Sorry, I don't know anything about earwig.oz

Grub menu
What is the grub menu and how do i find it?
- 05-01-2007 #7
GRUB menu appears at startup, when you power on machine. GRUB allows to boot other installed OS' or boot up in rescue mode and running memtests.
doesn't it appear in your machine? in case it doesn't appear, press Esc key at startup. It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

It said:
INIT:Going single user
INIT:Sending processes the TERM signal
Give root password to login:
Then only the Print Screen,Scoll Lock,Num Lock,Caps Lock and Enter keys worked on my keyboard so i couldnt type in "passwd".
Can you tell me what the problem is?

its asking for root password in single user mode too.
boot up from Installation CD/DVD and select Rescue option in Menu. execute 'passwd' command. nothing will be displayed on screen while typing password, not even ******It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
