    Question Boot problem with Auditor

Hi all !, I have just installed Linux Auditor on my other laptop after trying it on live CD. The problem is that when I boot my laptop it LILO asks which version I want to boot then Auditor begins to boot, it asks me for username then asks for my password. At this point I just get the command prompt- Username@computer:~$ but does't go any further (no desktop) !!. Also I now find that I can no longer boot from CD even though my bios is set to do so. Maybe Its obvious to you guys but i'm at a loss being such a Noob.
Would be greatful for any help !,
    Maxito..

    Hi Maxito,

    Welcome to the LinuxForums.
At this point I just get the command prompt- Username@computer:~$ but does't go any further (no desktop) !!.
execute 'startx' at command prompt and post error message if any.
Also I now find that I can no longer boot from CD even though my bios is set to do so.
does LiveCD boot up on other machines?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
