    Media Players

    I am using ubuntu.
    I am currently using totem as my default media player both online(firefox) and offline, but it will not play the all video formats.
    1) what plugins do I need to download
    2) if i can't get them through synaptic package manger where can i get them.
    3) is there a better media solution to than totem and where do i get it and what if any plugins do i need to download

    which version of Ubuntu do you have? codecs/pluing installation is easy in Feisty Fawn, latest version of Ubuntu.
    check these links for installing plugins/codecs for restricted formats.

    I haven't tried it out yet, but I heard Amarok is really good (possibly the best). You need to download KDE first, though (you can still run it in GNOME).

    You don't need full blown KDE to run it, just some libs that will be pulled automatically from Ubuntu's repos
