    need a little convincing

    Hello,
well what's this post about.., I need a little convincing.
I currently use windows xp sp2

Now I've been switching xp/linux all the time, when I used linux again, i though, omg I love linux I''m never going to use xp again, then i switch back to xp and I think, I hate linux and I won't go back

now why would I use linux instead of xp?
I mean I'm a big gamer and I can't play any of my games besides quake 3 which takes a month to install, (how to I mean)

    so anyone care to bite?

Linux isn't for everyone, but it's an alternative for those that like it. If Windows works better for you, then that's probably what you should use. When and if the time should come that Linux does what you need, it will be an alternative for you.

Keep in mind though, that it's not up to other users to convince you that you need to be running Linux. You'll have to convince yourself that Linux meets your needs.

In the interim, best of luck with whatever OS you should decide to use.

we dont want anyone to transfer from Windows to Linux if he/she couldn't accomplish whatever needed.
OS is a personal choice and if xyz OS doesn't work for you, you are free to pick another unless you are willing to learn.
i am dual booting and use Windows now n then. there are a few things which i can't accomplish in Linux yet and i am trying to solve those problems.

OS choice depends on you only.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

We have over 112,000 members here at Linux Forums, and even if every one of them posted back saying you should run Linux, and why you should, that doesn't mean that you'll like Linux, or that it will meet your needs. It's up to each individual user to decide.

I want all computer users to be happy with whatever OS they choose and don't really care if they use Linux, Windows, or Mac, just so long as they are happy. Whether or not Linux takes over the OS world is of absolutely no concern to me, as long as it remains an alternative.

Again, Linux isn't for everyone, but lots of folks do like it...
