    Bad ISO?

I've never tried downloading an ISO myself, only used other pre-burned discs. Now, I tried downloading an Ubuntu ISO, burned it to a CD via Nero's Data CD burning option, but whenever I try to use it, it doesn't work. The computer I'm trying to use it on runs my old disc though, so I'm guessing it's either a bad ISO, or I'm not burning it right, but I'm not really sure of anything at this point.

I forgot exactly where I downloaded the torrent, but I know it was off the Ubuntu website.

    Any advice?

My first thought is that you burned the .iso to the disk as a literal file in stead of an image.

If you open the drive (assuming a Windows system), do you have a file called Ubuntu.blabla.iso? Than that's where you went wrong.

Select BURN IMAGE TO DISK option in Nero's Menu as suggested by Freston.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I'm not seeing an image option, but I'm guessing "Make Bootable CD" will substitute? Thanks for the help guys, feeling kinda dumb :P.

No, don't make the CD bootable yourself, or it won't work properly. The ISO image burning process makes the CD bootable by default. Check the link I provided above for proper image burning steps.
