What is the purpose of the " Google analytics urchin module "??

I got an email with an attachment today. My Seamonkey browser download the attachment into - file:///tmp/linux3.doc.

I had never been exposed to this file so I sought help with the file search browser. It opened a file with 3370 items. It looks as though everything I ever saved is in this file and quite a few other things that I never heard of.

The " Google analytics urchin module " is one of these files.

That seems to be the snoop that gathers data for the Google Analytics service.
I see it in the source of a lot of web pages, including those here at Linux Forums.

Not only is that scary, it is also disgusting. I think yahoo and the dial-up ISP's I have used have put similar software into my computer. Nothing is sacred any more.

I went into Google a while back and cleared my history completely. I also make sure to log back out after checking my gmail account. I never search the web while I'm logged in to Google, and I delete my browser cache frequently.
