Proper way to install?
I've always had troubles with installing linux. The only time I was successful (if you could call it that) was when I used Wubi. Even then, due to some weird errors it took AGES to boot. I was "successful" with Wubi because it didn't have an install process. This is how I install:
Prepare a formatted HDD.
Burn .iso to disk (ubuntu-7.04-alternate-i386.iso if you want me to be specific)
Boot to CD... install
My problem is something to do with CD drive mounting... it says during installation it failed to mount CD...
I have never been successful with a alternate or liveCD install... amidoinitrite?
