    driver installation

    I am a total newbie with little knowlage of Linux. I installed CentOS 5 on my AMD 690 MoBo. Everything is configured except my RTL8169 NIC.

    I downloaded the driver however it is an img file.
    I unzipped the img file in windows and copied the files to the linux system

    These are the files

    rhdd
    pcitable
    modules.dep
    modules.cgz
    modules.alias
    modinfo

    I have no idea on what is the next step.

    Are you saying your NIC is not being automatically recognized? Are you sure it is not being recognized? If so, how are you sure?
