try this firefox plugin
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/873
it is a system for transforming Indic text between public and proprietary formats. The technology currently supports Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Devanagari (including Marathi), Gujarati, Bengali, and Gurmukhi...
hope this works for you

it's same as to that in windows
click on the this
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/873
and you will be promted to install extension

click on install and after the installation is sucessfull restart firefox.
After restarting open pages with telugu fonts and wait till the page is loaded. Now you can view telugu fonts.(you may not view telugu font primarily so wait until the whole page is loaded)
I tried the plugin and i can view pages at Eenadu - Homepage with out any troublelife is the greatest opportunity that the nature had given you

am not sure wheter this works for you or not but give it a try
if you could login to your system try pressing "ctrl" + "alt" + "+" and "ctrl" + "alt" + "-"
this will change your display resolution if this woun't work try this
after starting your system press ctrl+alt+f1
now you will get a command promt login there as root and now typeto make default settingssystem-config-display --reconfiglife is the greatest opportunity that the nature had given you

Can an one review these instructions as i am not sure of these
if any of above is not working press ctrl+alt+f1 log in as root type
press "i" this will bring vi to insert mode and under Section "Screen" under SubSection "Display" after EndSubSection add thisvi /etc/X11/xorg.conf
SubSection "Display"
Viewport 0 0
Depth 16
Modes "800x600"
EndSubSection
if SubSection "Display" already exists change Modes to "800x600"
and now press "esc" and then type ":wq!" to exit. Now try logging back to gui mode by pressing ctrl+alt+f7life is the greatest opportunity that the nature had given you
