    I can't add 3D effects

I'm using PCLinuxOS, the latest version.
The problem I'm facing is that 3D effects have been disabled because apparently the system requirements are not met. I have an ATI Radeon Mobility 1400 graphics card. This shows up when I run a hardware scan.

Can it be because the driver is missing?
If so, where can I get the driver?

Look at " ATI Proprietary Linux x86 Display Driver 8.38.6" at ATI Proprietary Linux x86 Display Driver 8.38.6

I got the exact driver I would need from the ATI site. I downloaded it onto my desktop PC which runs on windowsXP, put it on a pen drive and copy-pasted it onto my my linux desktopon my dual-boot laptop. But there was an error message saying that the file is binary and and cannot be copied as it would get corrupted. would it be necessary to download it directly through linux?
