Have managed to download and install VLC Media Player but could someone tell me how i can get it to play a dvd for example please....

    VLC Player

    Have managed to download and install VLC Media Player but could someone tell me how i can get it to play a dvd for example please.

    VLC requires libdvd as it's depedencies so that it plays dvd's after installation.

    so once VLC is installed by satisfying all dependencies it will play DVD

    if such thing is not happening to you post the error raised by the player

    For encypted dvds, you need to install libdvdcss.

    Thanks for the help guys but i have now removed VLC Media Player. It wouldn't work because of failed dependencies. So i have started to use KMPlayer.

    if your problem is with dependencies give the detais of your linux system.you can install VLC player satisfying all dependencies through package manager present on your system.
