Question PHP Not working on subdomains in Plesk 8.2 on CentOS

    Hi there,

Im really stuck and really need some help!

I managed to hire two supposeldy qualified sysadmins one after the other to install PHP5, MySQL5, Mencoder, Ruby etc so that I could set up a clipsharing script on a server I have just started renting to find out neither one of them can make it work, well thats when their consoles aren't idle for 4 hours upwards when they were supposed to be working on it.

I am running CentOS and Plesk 8.2 and the problem I am having is that PHP is working on main domains but not on subdomains.
The option to select PHP support when you create a subdomain from Plesk is totally shaded out.
Also when you try and visit the subdomain via the browser it just downloads the page as a php file.

When I rented my server I had PHP4 and MySQL4 installed but the script needed php5 so I asked the first guy to upgrade them and install mencoder etc.
He couldnt make it work so I hired a second guy who got it to work on domains but cant get it to work on subdomains... To be honest, after 6 days of hastle I'm about ready to say scr*w it and not bother.

So now I need to go back to the beginning and start again so I need to uninstall the lot but Im not sure how you uninstall them.

Either that or find out why php isnt working on subdomains and since he doesnt have a clue and I can't find anything in Google that helps or on plesks or my hosting companies sites, my only choice seems to be to remove the lot and follow a tutorial to install them again myself and hope that works.
If not and the server gets screwed over, I gotta ditch it and give up :/

I dont need to remove MySQL that seems to be fine but I do need to remove PHP5 and any instances of PHP4, as well as:

    Mencoder
    ruby
    lamemp3
    libogg
    libvorbis
    mplayer
    ffmpeg
GD library with freetype and curl

and one or two other bits that I cant remember off the top of my head.

This is my first server and my first experience at renting and running one and so far it has all gone wrong :/
I thought I would do the right thing and hire someone with experience like from get a freelancer, yeah right.. What a joke

As you can gether Im in quite a pickle, behind schedule and not a happy bunny....

Apart from the obvious of hire a pro sys admin which I just cant afford yet, can anyone help with some advice or troubleshooting?

    It Would be greatly appreciated!!!!

    Thanks!
